are you a member of the B-R-A?
Ebay, why do you torment me with obscenely expensive promotional singles for European clothing lines?
Promotional EP for "Sweetie" brand brassieres featuring Dusty Springfield cuts (!).
Promo flexidisc for Woolmark brand togs by ye-ye girl Stone.

I bought a strange item the other day, funnily enough at the record shop
where I now work. it is a Canadian copy of The Bee Gees 3rd (or 5th, or even 6th) LP, "idea" which has the back cover (US design) printed on both sides. Maybe small_circle
(the only person I know with a more impressive Bee Gees collection than me) has seen this, but I never have. I took this picture as a demonstration-
If you are not familiar with this great pop-psych LP, here is an MP3: Bee Gees - Kilburn Towers MP3
The catalogue is being reissued later in the year, so buy it then!

my favorite liner notes EVER!
COMIN’ DOWN ON YOU is exactly where the contents of this album and Debbie Taylor are. She is a beautiful human being, holding nothing back—giving it all—doing it all—FOR ALL—those who are as opened as she is—those who she will bring alive! She is a black experience you will want to know and live with. Don’t hold anything back—‘cause she don’t! So get yourself ready for Debbie Taylor/COMIN’ DOWN ON YOU…with love!

here's some wax
Just a few rekkids from my collection... sorry about the quality, my camera isn't the nicest thang.
First off, probably the best record I own... Early 60's by my guess, dirty punny gay songs. The level of dirtiness is really inspiring to me. Songs about standing all day in the YMCA showers looking for sex, the events that transpire on a "Hairdresser's Weekend", an amazing song asking "Where are those old fashioned Balls of yesteryear/Those old fashioned Balls we held so dear":

I can't stop staring at this image. If there isn't a coffee table book of weirdo polka album covers, then there should be.

I bought this weird bubblegum cash-in record today, and there's actually a credit for this scary literal candy man that says, "CANDY COLLAGE BY DANIEL."
Best album credit ever!

These are from my parents' old LP collection that I have kidnapped. (There are a few more boxes up at their place I haven't even tapped into yet!)
They were always a huge fan of Ray Conniff, the orchestra and chorus director. Ray was apparently a huge fan of attractive, soft-focus women.( moreCollapse )
I'll post some other album covers soon.

Being a jerk....
Well, I thought I would contribute a post...
Now these aren't weird or anything BUT....
My Ex was really into this band, and a huge record nerd...like to the point it wasn't even cute...but annoying. He actually physically once picked me up off of the floor to move me out of the new arrivals section because "he needed first dibs"..... he also critisized my "flipping through records speed"...
SO. I found these two records one day when he had kicked me out of the new arrivals...and he LOVES this band (and is way gay for Todd Rundgren)...but did not have the records on vinyl. I took them, and instead of being a loving girlfriend and giving it to him (because to be fair, it did matter to him more)....I BOUGHT THEM!
He could not get over it.
I even kept them on display just to annoy him.
